Brief report after retrofit to a 2007 8KCAB. My aircraft was originally fitted with EI gauges when new so I thought that it would be fairly simple (compared to installing the EDM 930) as all the sensors were in place.
Reason for the update was that some of the EI gauges needed money spent on them and I never liked the MP and RPM displays.
I have been doing some flying recently in a 2009 8KCAB with the EDM 930 and I much prefer the MVP-50P as it is easier to use - especially telling it how much fuel is on board at the start of the flight.
I could add the electronic fuel gauges to give the same functionality as the EDM930 but no reason to remove the mechanical gauges.
It is integrated with the Garmin GPS/COM so displays fuel estimate to next waypoint etc.
I got the optional G-meter.
Positioned so that the whole screen is visible from the rear seat.
Data downloads are useful - I want to be able to visualise the flight in 3D but haven't yet found an easy way.
Tech support from EI has been excellent (just silly questions at this stage plus advice on my prior system).
