Finally getting around to finishing an old 7EC that's been sitting in my hangar for years and have some mods I'd like to do to it.
First, I have a set of Citabria toe brakes and hardware and the weld-in hoops to convert it from heel brakes. Since the new EC's have toe brakes (I think), is this an approved mod or did the factory have to do a field approval? It's already got hydraulic brakes.
Second, I'd like to do away with the "diaper bag-style" baggage compartment and extend the floorboards and put a bulkhead in further back like a Citabria so I can carry a bag or two. I guess the same question about the new EC's. Is that an approved mod?
Got a C-90 with a vacuum pump (-16 I think) and would like to use it and do away with the venturies on the side of the boot cowl.
Would like to put a skylight in it.
Anyone know anything about weld-on float fittings?
Airplane's at ENW, serial number 400.
Thanks in advance,
Steve
We used the O-200D does not have a vacuum system.
Thank you. What motor do you use in the new 7ECs and does it have a vacuum system?
Yes we can sell you the drawings for these installations call Chad in parts 1-800-223-9381
Is there a drawing for the baggage area, too? I'm going to have to do something about a rear bulkhead. Can I purchase these drawings from you?
Thanks for your time,
Steve
Steve.
You can install the toe brakes using approved data per the T/C American Champion drawing 4-1624. The aft floorboard can be installed using approved data and P/N: 4-1387 floorboard. Fuselage tabs will need to be installed. The Greenhouse can be installed using current approved data per the T/C. Tabs would need to be installed on the fuselage frame for the skylite frame. Weld on float fittings depend on the floats being installed per the STC for the installation.
