I have a 1999 7ECA that I am considering a prop re pitch. It has a standard 52 pitch on it now. I would like a little more takeoff performance and climb performance. It was suggested maybe to go with a 47 or 48. Will I see a difference? Are there any drawbacks to consider? I'm sure cruise speed will decrease but by how much?

I had mine repitched by Sensenich in Gainesville, GA.
You should check the TCDS to see what your static RPM range should be to see if a repitch might put you outside the range.
I talked to the guys in Gainesville and they told me to expect about 30 rpm/degree of change.
I changed mine 3* and gained about 100 static rpm.
